HOW MANY PAGES

I have migrated a fairly big course and would like to know how many pages it contains. Apart from counting 1 by 1, is there a setting which tells you how many pages your course has? I can see how many files, how many students, etc

Also, is there a limit to the number of pages a course may have?

Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to get a page count without using the API programmatically to count.  I checked both New Analytics and the Course Statistics areas, but neither give a page count.  It doesn't seem like something that would be super difficult for Instructure to add, but at the same time, I'm not sure how much it would be used in general.  You could submit this to the Canvas Ideas page for consideration by Instructure if you'd like.

There is no automatic page count. You could, of course, count the name of pages on your computer screen. Then count up how many screens of pages you have created and do the multiplication.

The following may be a trick you can use to determine the number of pages for that course.

go to a different course, and select the  "import existing content " link from the home page.

for content type, select copy a Canvas course.

Find the course that has all the pages in it and select it.

Then check the box for "select specific content"

then click on import - you get a list of all the content in the course and in parentheses next to the type of item to import is the number of items in that category - you should see a heading for pages.  so you should see pages(454) if you have 454 pages.

As a side note, I would go ahead and import just one item that you know about so that you don't have that select content option hanging around in the import content area - then just delete that one item from the course.
