How do I set the Home Page for a group?

I can create a Front page in Pages in the group site yet the Home button doesn't allow me to use that Front Page. The functionality is clearly set in Pages to allow us to set one as the Front Page BUT there doesn't seem to be any functionality that I can find that enables me to set that Front Page as my Home Page for a group. Please see the attached image of tools on the Home Page of groups. Is there a button we can turn on anywhere to allow us to set a Home Page for groups?

Hi  @kmatson 

Currently, Canvas does not support home pages for groups. When you set a page as "Front Page", this means just for the course Home page.

There have been feature ideas asking for Group home pages in the past, but there is nothing currently open for voting that I can find. You may want to consider submitting a feature idea for this. You can learn more about the feature idea process at How does the feature idea process work in the Canvas Community?‌

Unfortunately, I don't believe there has been any change to setting a "Home" page for groups.  Keep following Allow Groups to set Homepage - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com) and post your feedback there with real-world examples for Canvas engineers so they know why this would be important to you in Canvas.

I have a suggestion--let's change Canvas Community terminology.  Every time someone asks a question, and the answer comes back "Canvas does not have this functionality"--which happens all too often--let's not stick a label on the inquiry that says "solved" and a link that says, "jump to solution," which is actually anything but a solution.  The diction is Orwellian doublespeak, an abuse of the plain meaning of "solution." 

How about labeling such a inquiry "unsolved," or "currently unsolvable" or "not within Canvas's current capacity"?   And the link can read, "jump to explanation."  This kind of candor would go along way to defusing the simmering frustration I see in so many posts.  Many commentors complain that what seems to be an obvious function is omitted and never added despite years of outcry on the same topic (I sometimes read with grim humor the years and years of posts begging for the ability to upload a submission on behalf of a student and the Moai-like immovability and virtual silence of Canvas in this regard).  Others complain about the convoluted workarounds to solve a clear problem. 

In the case of the current problem, I'm wondering what on earth it means to be able to 1) create a page for a group and 2) designate it as a front page only to 3) have it not show up when clicking on the homepage of the group.  Just what is a "front page" then?  For the course as a whole, designating a front page actually puts it as the, ahem, front page. In the case of groups, "front page" seems to mean nothing, offering a feel good moment of clicking a button that doesn't actually do anything. Once again, Orwell seems right on point here.
