Canvas Speedgrader date/time stamps do not accurately reflect the date of submissions/resubmissions. The dropdown lists every assignment submission with the date/time of the most recent submission. We can tell the submission dates in the dropdown are not accurate because the comment date/time stamps from instructors and/or students indicate the previous submissions were made on different dates/times. I am pretty sure this just started happening today 7/18/25 because I have not heard from any instructors about this previously.
In the attached screenshots, all 3 of Stephanie's submissions appear in the dropdown with the date July 17, 8:08 AM. When you look at the instructor and student comments below, you can tell that Stephanie submitted her first assignment prior to 7/12 when feedback was first provided, and the second resubmission occurred before 7/16, when the next instructor feedback was submitted.

Hi! Yes, I reached out to Canvas Support directly, and they have resolved the issue. It was a bug in the Canvas system. Thanks!
Hello @SarahMurphy2
I recommend you contact Canvas Support. They can look into your issue in further detail and possibly escalate the issue to the engineers if this is a greater issue.

Hi @SarahMurphy2,
As @masantos recommended, did you reach out to Canvas Support directly or at least your institution's Canvas team?
What did they say?
