Manual posting of discussion grades when using checkpoints

I have tried using the new feature that allows checkpoints in discussions, and don't plan to use it for the rest of the semester for reasons that others have already cited (such as the fact that the grade in my rubric is ignored and so the grades must be manually calculated and entered).  I just wanted to mention another issue I had with it this week.

I always set discussion grades to "manual posting" and don't post the grades until all the class discussions are graded.  This does not seem to work with checkpoints.  As soon as I enter the grades for the two checkpoints, the total grade is instantly posted (despite the "manual" setting).  Am I missing another setting that I need to change?

While I could not replicate the issue in my Sandbox course, this may be tied to a known bug that our Engineering team is currently investigating. Please submit a support ticket, if you haven't yet, with the affected discussion topics so that our support team can further check if they are indeed affected by a bug that our engineering team is currently investigating around this issue.
