I have an instructor who has lost his modules through no fault of his own. both modules from previous courses and recent course are not visible and no content is visible. we were unable to use the delete command to restore the data. How can we find out a solution to this issue as it appears to be a new event that is occurring within Canvas

To confirm, you were unable to use the undelete trick (not the delete trick)? Undeleting things in Canvas
Also, are you sure that you are logged in to the correct course where the content is no longer present? Have you logged in to your school's "beta" or "test" environment? You might be able to find the content there that you could bring over into your normal "production" Canvas environment (sort of as a last resort). The "production" environment is the Canvas environment you normally log into on a daily basis.
Make sure that you log out of "test" or "beta" before you return to your school's normal "production" environment.
