Missing Work Reports by Grading Period

Hello!

As an elementary teacher I would like to run missing work reports for a certain grading period to print for my students. I see that I can run a report, however I can not filter it to only run the missing work report by the grading period. They also do not have the ability to print from their computers, so I would love the ability to run the report for the class and then print all the reports at one time.

Are you talking about the Missing Assignments Report in New Analytics?

You should have an option to filter by section, after clicking +Filter (if "grading period" is not a section, please explain)

Yes, that is where I am looking. I can filter only by course. When I run the report it shows all missing work from the entire year. I would love to be able to have a filter that I can choose the grading period.

Can this filter be added?

I see, sorry, I wasn't aware of grading periods in Canvas, and I can't test that myself.

From the page I linked above, you can filter the gradebook for grading periods, as well as for "status" (late, missing, etc), so you could find all missing assignments for a grading period using the gradebook, but that's probably not on a nice format to share with students.

That is correct. I know that as an instructor I can filter what I see on my end, however it would be very helpful to be able to print out missing work reports for our students. At the elementary age, they are not at the skill level yet to navigate easily through Canvas. With our last LMS we were able to print missing work reports for the students and we would love to be able to do this again by grading period. 

Is this a filter that could be added?

It seems that has been suggested early last year: [Analytics] Grading Periods Filter for New Analytics Report.

For now, I think the workarounds are to either (1) filter out the generated report using a filter in Excel or your favorite spreadsheet editor for the due date (which seems to be what determines grading periods), or (2) use the API (some coding knowledge required)
