Module Requirements - Files visible to students shouldn't be until the previous module is completed

We have set up prerequisites for students to complete module 1 before module 2, etc.  We have requirements to go in sequential order and but the first item of each module is a file and it is visible to students.  Suggestions on how to make the files also not visible to students until they complete the previous module?

You would need to make sure these files are also added as requirements on the modules.

How do I add requirements to a module? 

If they are added, this might be the student view cached information. If your prerequisites and requirements are all set up correctly, the files should be locked as well in the module. I would advise you to reset the student view and try again.

They are included as a requirement but they are still visible before the student completes the previous module.

Also, make sure the Files button is not available on the Course Menu.
