A professor recently reached out in regards to 2 different time stamps showing under their module assignment settings and they are wondering why one is showing 9AM and the other shows 11 AM and wants only one (the 9 AM) to reflect since it's confusing them

Are the professor's time zones set correctly for him/her in his/her own Canvas account settings and for the course in question?

Typically, these time zones would be set to the same time zone.  However, I could see a situation where a professor was teaching for a college in California, but yet the professor worked remotely from his/her home in South Carolina.  So, the course might be set for the Pacific time zone, but the professor might have his/her user account time zone set for Eastern because of where he/she lives.  That's probably an extreme (but possible) example.

Canvas administrators also have the ability to set a time zone for the entire account, but that would not be something the professor could set.

Thank you for your response! The time zone is set correct on the account. Would you know why Local/ Course is showing a time difference?

Unfortunately, I do not know why the course time zone would be set differently.  The professor should be able to set this on his/her own.  If, for some reason, the professor cannot change that course time zone to the correct time zone, then have the professor reach out to the school's Canvas administrator for assistance.  Hope this helps!
