Hi, how do you get the "move" option in the Discussions section? I need to re-order my discussion posts but I don't have a move option and when I simply drag and drop the discussion does not stay put. Any help is appreciated!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @KristenRoye,
You need to drag the discussions up to the pinned area on top to be able to customize the order of them. The regular "discussions" section is ordered by recent activity, and I don't believe there is a way to alter that. When you move your discussions to the pinned area, you'll be able to put them is any order you want, much like you can in the Assignments and Modules areas of Canvas.
Hope this helps! I'm going to mark this as the solution, but if it doesn't work for you for some reason, please respond back here to let us know!

Have you organized your course content into unit or weekly modules? Some of my classes have lots of discussions. However, I never ever click on Discussions, and I have disabled "Discussions" from my students Course Navigation Bar. The students and I both access them from our modules as well as our To-Do Lists.
To be honest, I think it's a waste of time to try to reorganize the discussions. It's not necessary.
