Questions Banks Not Showing when Creating a Quiz on Canvas

Hello!

I have created some question banks with 2-3 questions each. However, when building a quiz and selecting the option "Item Banks" to insert questions from my question banks, none of the banks (and therefore their corresponding questions) show up (please refer to the attached screenshots).

Would you please help me with this issue?

Hi @Israe,

Canvas has two quizzing engines, one called "classic quizzes" and one called "new quizzes".  Question banks are associated with classic quizzes, and item banks are associated with new quizzes.  It sounds like you're using New Quizzes for your quizzing engine, so you'd need to create item banks instead of question banks for those.

I hope this helps a bit, I know the dual quizzing engine choices can be a bit confusing at first.  Once you get the hang of the terminology and your own preferences, it should start to make more sense.

I imported question banks from Moodle and they went into a Question Bank. But we only have New Quizzes, so I can't use them at all. How do I make it import into a Item Bank or how do I transfer from a Question Bank to an Item Bank?
