We've been experiencing issues with scorm files not copying over when a template course is copied. We've verified that the files exist in the templates. It doesn't happen every time or for every template. It seems to be hit or miss. It happens to different users as well.
Anyone else seeing this?

It doesn't seem like we were able to find the issue in the community. If you or anyone else is running into the issue still, I'd recommend contacting Canvas Support so they can take a look at your exact Canvas environment and see what's going on.
I'm sorry the community couldn't be more help on this one. However, we are marking this post as a temporary solution to help Community Members find and respond to the newest and most active threads.
At any time, any Community member can click the “Not the Solution” option and then respond in-thread with your follow-up questions. It’s important to include @CommunityForums in that reply so we can restore the entire topic to our list of unanswered questions we check routinely.

We started noticing it this week. Never had this problem before and it's messing up our science labs. Very frustrating.

I am not able to successfully copy any assignments that have a SCORM format. Even if I copy the entire course, the assignments with a SCORM format do not copy successfully. It appears that the files copy, but trying to open them generates an error message: Page Not Found.
Please advise how I may resolve the issue.
I do not have the option to click "Not the Solution." SCORM files cannot be copied in Canvas. They can be uploaded and used but not copied to another course. If you try to copy a Module or Page with SCORM files all you will get is an error message.
i have the EXACT issue, we mass copy our courses to get the students in their courses and in that process for some reason it doesnt copy the SCORM files, hope they fix it soon
Hello Carlos_Gomez1,
Canvas support stated that SCORM is not native to Canvas. It runs by using an app/add-on. Therefore, SCORM cannot be copied and there is not a "fix" that Canvas can implement to make them copy. Canvas will never be able to copy SCORM files. (SCORM is native to Moodle, so it probably works fine in Moodle.) Those of us in Canvas are basically left unable to use SCORM files, even though they were designed for educators and they are very useful for student engagement and success. There is no way that a professor can take the time to set up these files for every video in every section of every course, every semester. This leaves me quite disappointed with Canvas.
If I find a way to make this work using Moodle, I plan to post here regarding my success. If you find a way to use SCORM files, please do post about it.
Thank you,
Bill Batlle
I am experiencing this. And it's not just SCORM files. Video files as well are not copying over into the new course. Has a resolution to this issue been created?
I'm also having this experience, but the strange thing is that I was able to import a SCORM-based content page from one course to another without any issues, but then when I tried importing it to a different course the next week it was back to being broken and giving the following error:
"The page you were looking for doesn't exist.
You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved.
If you are the application owner check the logs for more information."
