For any video I try to access from canvaslms.com, I get a label over the video saying "Please accept the cookie policy before viewing this external content." My browser is set to accept cookies and accept third-party cookies. My browser is also set to not block any trackers. The label appears whether or not I'm logged in to the community site.
How on earth does one accept this infamous and elusive cookie policy?

Hi @WillMiller,
Wwhen you visit the community homepage, an agreement window should slide up in the bottom left corner of the screen. I just tried this in incognito mode and took a screenshot of this:
If that doesn't slide up for you, perhaps you have some kind of adblocker or similar extension installed that's blocking the functionality. If that is the case, you can usually configure extensions to allow certain sites to have full functionality (no blocking), so you could allow community.canvaslms.com.
I hope this helps!

Hi @nathanatkinson ... Thanks for the additional information you provided. Apparently, the cookie slide-up panel connects to a number of trackers from multiple domains that were added to block lists used at the router/network level by our institution. From what I'm told, no one can say for sure when the tracker domains were added to the block list, but the result is that no one at the College newly using the Community web site, or visiting from a new computer or browser, will see the cookie slide-up. So there's nothing to be done at the end-user level.

Hi @chriscas ...
Appreciate your response! Unfortunately, no agreement slides up from the bottom left corner of the home page. No adblockers or content blockers installed, and have double-checked and triple-checked the browser settings to make sure its built-in blockers and tracking prevention are disabled. And that pop-ups are allowed. Even tried to go a step further by giving express permissions to canvaslms.com and instructure.com for everything. Is it possible there's another domain involved somehow?
Hi @WillMiller I'm sorry to hear this is happening. This is the first report I've seen of anyone having this issue with not seeing the cookie policy pop-up. We use a third party script through OneTrust to manage the cookies, so it's possible that could be blocked somehow as well. I'd recommend clearing your cache and cookies for the community site and then try with a video again to see if that works. Another way to see if an errant cookie is causing the issue is to try in Incognito or in a browser you rarely or never use (such as Firefox or Edge) and see if you see the cookie policy pop-up in that case.

I'm having the same issue. There is no option to "accept cookies", my browser is set to accept cookies and no ad blockers, I've tried several browsers - all same issue. I've tried logging in, and out. I'm trying from home, so no URL blockers, or admin issues. But every video is still blocked.
If you're not seeing the OneTrust cookie pop-up, you may need to clear cache and cookies for the Instructure Community site and try loading it again. Even if you have your browser set to accept cookies you still have to accept the cookie consent on this site in order to see the videos. The videos are checking for a set cookie that's only set once that cookie consent pop-up has been clicked and accepted.
For me, the Ad Blocker in Chrome was blocking the Cookie Policy popup. I clicked the Ad Blocker in Chrome and clicked 'Pause on this site' and the popup immediately showed up.
