User's forum responses are changing to a different language

Hi all, I have a user who is having a strange behavior with their forum posts within Canvas. Some of their posts are changing the language from english to something else (I believe it's Thai) on their own as the student says they are not doing it, and when it happens they have to go back in and change the font in the post for it to reappear in english. The student's language in their profile is set to English. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Have you tried checking the language settings on the device itself? What browser is being used? I remember an issue (years ago) with Chrome changing the language settings for certain students, apparently based on their names. We never did solve the issue (though they were middle school students, so I suspect shenanigans in that case).

Hmm, I remember this happening to me with some sites before. if the user is using Chrome it could be something to do with the language settings/Google translate enabled in the browser. I'd troubleshoot by asking the student to log in on a different device altogether or by installing a new browser to confirm this and then trying to find the right setting in their browser.
