I rely on text-to-speech when composing student comments. One of the most useful features is the ability to speak the name of a punctuation mark, and have it appear. This feature has not worked for several weeks, regardless of what computer I'm using. It also affects my wife's Canvas at a different school, so it is clearly a systemic issue.
I cannot have this continue comma because it makes my comments look terrible period could you look into this question mark both I and my students thank you exclamation point
This would definitely be annoying. I would suggest reporting this as a problem a different way to get it to tech support faster:
You will get a menu to submit the issue. I'd recommend that you just copy/paste the post you made here. It succinctly describes the issue.
I reported it as a problem. Canvas passed the buck saying "it's a Google problem." One work-around is that speech to text still works on the Canvas App, so I can grade on my phone.

Yes, that's what I did first, but I'm getting no traction. It was "kicked upstairs" by tech at my school, and so far, no one at Canvas seems to have noticed.
