lost submitted files of students due to change in due date

Hi, I wanted to change the submission date for one student to allow for resubmission. Before doing this, I noted that I have 21 submissions that were submitted before due date that were not yet graded. When I changed the due date for the one student, I could not access the 21 other submissions. Unfortunately, I was not able to download the submissions in speed grader before changing the submission date. May I know how I can retrieve the previously submitted, ungraded file from the 21 students? Thank you.

Hi @MaryJacqueline,

When you're making a due date exception for a single student (or set of students), it is very important to add a new "assign to" and not just replace the "everyone" dates with a single student.  When you add a new "assign to", you'll get a new place to select the student and set their dates, and the original box will change from "everyone" to "everyone else".  If you go back to the assignment now and add a new "assign to", you can select the everyone else option, populate the original dates there, and all of the submissions should reappear.
