"Access Denied" for student trying to view read-only view of recent course
I would like one of my students to be able to return to a concluded course they recently completed to be able to read comments that were left for them under one of their discussion activities. However, whenever they try to access the course (which concluded last week) they see the "Access Denied" message. I understand that there is a setting to "Restrict students from viewing course after course end date" but I have left it unchecked. Is there something else I have to do to give my students read-only access to a recently concluded course?

We are working with ways to allow students the ability to access courses that have concluded to view grades and assignment feedback and let faculty have control over that access.
For some reason, after a logged out and did a browser cache flush everything worked like I expected it to.

Hi @L11ghtman ...
This might work for your needs (if you are unable to do this as an instructor, you'll need to work with your school's Canvas administrator):
- Click on your course "Settings", and then click on the "Sections" tab. Add a new section to your course. For example, you could call it "Extension".
- Click on the name of the extension you just created. Click on the "Edit Section" button. Add Start and End dates for the range of when you want your student to have access to the course. Also, be sure to check the box for "Students can only participate in the course between these dates." Be sure to click the "Update Section" button.
- Go to your "People" page. Click on the three-dot kebab icon to the far right of the student that you want to give additional time to. Select "Edit Section". Click on the "browse" link to add the new section you created to the student. The student will now have two sections assigned to him/her, and that's ok. Be sure to click the "Update" button. Repeat this for the instructor as well.
If you did everything correctly, your student should now have extra time to access the course based on the dates you set for the "Extension" section you created in step #1.
Hopefully this will help a bit. Sing out if you have any other questions about this...thanks!
