Hello,
I'm trying to use Google Drive with Canvas, I authorised it in the settings months ago and it appears under Registered Services but it does not and has never appeared in Course Settings > Apps (Google Hangouts does appear), it does not appear in the rich text editor, or any of the other places that it should be available. Has this feature been disabled for free accounts? Has it been replaced by Google Assignments (which I do not have access to)? If so why is it in the settings? Why not just remove the option entirely? I've spent hours trying to solve this, I've read every piece of information and forum and feel like I'm going nuts.
Thanks,
Sophia
Hello @SophiaKosmaoglo
Sorry that you question has gone unanswered for so long.

Thanks Colton, I have already tried this in the many times that I went round in circles but I searched once again for "Google" and "Google Drive" in Course Settings > Apps and the Edu App Center and nothing came up. There are no apps installed in Course Settings > Apps.
Cheers,
Sophia
Google recently made some changes. This is the response I received from Canvas.
Thanks for going to the trouble vcarmer! This is not a solution because the point of using Google (which I avoid using on principle), is to integrate collaborative tools with Canvas, which are completely missing from the platform. What is the point of the "Collaborations" menu item when there are no tools to collaborate with? Also, Johnny B. didn't say where the information that "Free for Teacher accounts do not support this feature" is available, preferably before or at the very least after one signs up and spends hours hunting for it.
I did the same thing with my personal account but it didn’t work because it was not connected to the Canvas apps. So what I did is that I created a Canvas account with my Apple ID so it gave access to google drive and office 365 . If you have an Apple Account create a canvas account with it . Now what I can do is to create courses with my Apple canvas and add my personal account as role for example ( teacher , student, TA , designer)
Try it .
Thanks Fr9, sounds promising but my Apple ID, which I use my personal email for, is the same one that I used to sign up to Canvas with. It's not clear how I would use my Apple Account to create a Canvas account. Especially as I've already created courses on my current Canvas account and these courses are live with students signed up to them.
