Students’ sense of belonging has long been studied in academia as college/university is a time for self-discovery and change. Students that feel like they belong in the larger campus community are more inclined to persist to the next year (Hausmann et al., 2009). Additionally, students that feel like they are part of a wider community are more successful (Strayhorn, 2019). 

A new school year brings with it a plethora of updates, reminders, and new policies for both students and faculty. While it is possible for some information to fall through the cracks, something as important as campus inclusion and diversity should not.
