Dr. Perry Samson, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Atmospheric Science
University of Michigan - HigherEd
Instructors at University of Michigan are improving outcomes by using previously unavailable learning data on student behaviors during and after class. Examples of this data include responses to instructor questions, questions asked by students, volume of notes taken, length of time in reflection on notes and other content, and more. This presentation will highlight lessons learned about how student behaviors are related to grades and how instructors can adjust teaching methods, pinpoint areas within a lecture where students are confused and identify students in need of extra help well before mid-term exams. Join us in this session to learn more about how to extend Canvas into the classroom with Echo360 to further engage students and capture new combinations of LMS and behavioral data to improve student outcomes.
