New Quizzes not saving settings

I create a quiz in "New Quizzes."

In the options, I assign a points value (like, 50 pts.) and un-check the boxes that say that the quiz should NOT count towards the student's final grade and should NOT be displayed in the Grade Book.  I save these options.

However, I noticed that New Quizzes is NOT saving these options.  For example, if I go into "Build" and build the quiz with questions and, then, come out of that . . . the options I chose have been changed: It shows 0 pts. for the quiz and the boxes to not have it count towards the Final Grade or be shown in the Grade Book are both checked.  It also somtimes changes where I want the quiz categorized, like under "Assignments" (or, whatever).

So, I change the options back to what I want: giving a points value, un-checking the boxes.  I save the settings and exit.

And, New Quizzes will STILL screw these settings up, changing them back to 0 pts. and re-checking the boxes.

Anybody else having this (frustrating) problem?

That is a really odd behavior. I attempted to replicate this in my sandbox and was unable to in every instance. However It seems like something is being cached when you save the settings on the assignment screen, prior to entering the build screen. 

• This might be an odd question, but do you know if your course is possibly using Weigthed grading periods? One thing I noticed was that THIS guide explains: When grading periods are weighted, assignments outside of grading periods do not count toward the final grade. If so, it could be related to the due date that is being used when you setup the assignment component of the New Quiz. Canvas will validate all assignments against any closed grading periods. 
•  I am assuming it is not related to your browser, but you could try and clear the cache on the browser you are seeing the behavior with to rule that out. (Guides for clearing cache on MAC and PC)

Apparently, according to the people who handle Canvas at my school, New Quizzes can be glitchy and not work properly with the version of Canvas that we are using.  They say that it is unstable with other systems.  So, that would seem to explain it.
