Is there a way to have the text boxes resize when students are annotating? Right now, typed text goes from edge to edge. We've tried looking for a way to resize but can't find it. We've tried putting returns in the text--that doesn't work. There has to be a way to do it, but we can't figure it out. We have a document that has tables that need to be filled in with paragraph length text. We are trying to resize the text to fit the individual cells.
Hi @t_bird ,
Someone else may have a better answer, but I tried using shift-enter, and that worked for me. (Hitting enter alone caused me to exit the text box entirely, which I assume happened to you too.) Using shift-enter is not ideal and reminds me of using a typewriter (!), but it may be a solution for you for now.
I'll try it
Thank you! That did work. I wasn't aware of shift-enter. Thank you very much!
Ooh, it's a handy little tactic. It also allows you to put a carriage return in a list without creating a new number or bullet automatically. It essentially is telling the system to make a return but without marking it as a new paragraph. I use it frequently in Google Docs/Word and Slides/Powerpoint. (Note that you need to use alt-enter for the same function in a spreadsheet app.)
Same problem here. Canvas really needs to get this problem fixed. Make it where students can shape their textbox or have more options for Font Size.
