Since Google Docs added the "document tabs" feature, Google Docs uploaded by students through the Google Docs LTI have extra pages created for each tab when viewed in speedgrader. The extra pages are blank except for "TAB 1" at the top.
This is incredibly annoying for teachers, who have to click past the first page to see student documents.
This page does not show up when you download Docs as a pdf in Google, so it must have something to do with how Canvas transcodes Google Docs to Speedgrader. If you download a pdf from Speedgrader, it also includes the extra TAB pages.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
