The course with that SIS ID (12CAF2026) was deleted and can’t be recovered and the section associated with the course was also deleted and can't be recovered. Please help me find out how to release this SIS Course ID so it can be reused in a new course.

Hi @JeonghoJeon ...
I believe you should be able to restore a deleted course in your school's Canvas environment if you are a Canvas administrator at your school. This would require that you need the Course ID number of the deleted course, though. (The Course ID is the number found after /courses in the URL of the course.) Depending on when the course was deleted from your Canvas "production" environment, you may still be able to determine what that Course ID number is by looking in your school's "beta" or "test" environment. If/When you are able to find out what the Course ID number is, then you can return to your "production" environment and follow the instructions in this Guide:
How do I restore a deleted user or course in an account?
Once the course is restored, go to that course and remove the SIS from the "SIS ID" field, and put it into the new course.
I hope that this will be of some help to you. Sing out if you have any questions about this...thanks!

@JeonghoJeon You may need to do a change_sis_id.csv file to 'release' the old SIS ID.
Change the SIS ID to something like 12CAF2026_deleted, that should change the ID to something different allowing you to use the new SIS ID.
