How do I make assignments visible to students?

Students are not able to see the assignments.  There is a box that appears while hovering over the eye with a line through it.  Where do I need to look to enable students to be able to view the assignments?

Hi @SheilaBentley,

There are two possibilities for why the Assignments course menu has the slashed eyeball next to it.  Usually if you put your mouse over the icon (but don't click), a tooltip will appear and tell you which of the scenarios is making the menu hidden to students.

1. There may be no published assignments yet.  If this is the case, once you publish at least one assignment, the icon will go away and the menu will become available to students automatically.
2. The menu has been hidden is course settings.  if this is the case, you can follow the  How do I manage Course Navigation links? - Instructure Community  guide to move the Assignments menu from the hidden area up to the active area.
