Does anyone know how to make Learning Modules viewable to certain students in a course, but not all?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @Khustedde ,
Currently it is not possible to assign Modules only to some learners, but it is a feature scheduled to release in 2024.
You can view other upcoming features on the Canvas Product Roadmap. (Look at item 3 in the Improved! section.)
You may also want to explore Mastery Paths.
How do I use Mastery Paths in course modules?

@TrishaMeyer1 There is a convoluted way to do this where you set a Canvas assignment/quiz to a specific audience, then make that a prerequisite for a later module block, but we've not used it in anger.
Generally Instructure assume that students are in the same Canvas course because they have the same content, which is not always the case for us. By using Discussion or other Canvas Activity/assignment to carry your content, you are able to customise its visibility to specific individual students, to specific groups of students (set up via Peopl) or to specific cohorts (set up as, or imported as, Sections under settings).
Hi @paul_fynn ,
Using module prerequisites/requirements could be a way to limit access to modules, but they would still be visible to all users. @Khustedde asked about making them viewable to certain students only, which currently is possible only with Mastery Paths.
