New Quizzes "Fill in the Blank"

I am trying to add a question for an algebra class that requires students to write a polynomial in standard form.

When I use the backticks on numbers and variables, the + and - signs are recognized but the 3x^2 is not. 

Is there a way for fill in the blank questions to recognize numbers/variables/exponents as an option?

Having the terms in a word bank would be helpful.

Like @Gabriel33, I believe I have been able to successfullly duplicate what you have describe.

Can you please provide us with screenshots of what you have done while building building the quiz?
