Student experience when time runs out on a classic quiz

What does a student experience when a classic quiz's time ends?

When a student is taking a timed class quiz. what happens when the time is up? Does the quiz close? Freeze? Are they allowed to complete the quiz because they STARTED the quiz within the window? 

What do the students experience if they are in the process of taking a classic quiz when the "end time" comes up?

I just ran a test on it.  The quiz is autosaved and a dialog box pops up and says that the quiz will be autosaved in 10 or 15 seconds and it shows a countdown.  if the student does nothing, it automatically saves it and removes the dialog box and goes to the screen as if the student submitted the quiz.  All answers entered up to that time are saved.

I do not know what happens if they start the quiz and logout and close the browser.

They are not allowed to complete the quiz - whatever they had finished at that time is what they have submittted.
