Syncing with SIS and Associated/Unassociated issues

I am unable to get the dropdown of Associated and Unassociated choices within Manage Subjects > Assignments > More options, to show anything other than Unassociated.  I am aware that my Infinite Campus grade weights need to be set up as well as the setting up of my Canvas Groups (Formative/Summative/Practice) that match IC.  I do not see the list of these options in the dropdown, only Unassociated.  How do I tell Canvas to talk to IC for syncing of grades?

Thanks for posting this in the global Canvas Community! 

It sounds like there is something going on when you try to sync your categories from Canvas. 

• It might be best to contact Canvas support to have them take a look at your specific example. They might need to have you get a screenshot from your Categories in Infinite Campus and a link to your course where this is happening. 
• One way to check and see if Canvas and Infinite Campus are talking is to visit the Grade Sync area of your course if applicable to your Schools SIS integration. If you do not see it, you can go to the course settings > Navigation and enable the navigation link for Grade Sync. Under Utilities you can select the option for Remaster Grade Sync. It should run a sync and return any errors if there is an issue with the two systems. Canvas support can look at the grade sync error and try to determine what the issue is with their SIS Integrations team if your school uses canvas to manage your SIS.

Thank you!  My issue has been resolved by matching IC categories that were incorrectly shown.

Sometimes there is lag time between the time when you "Create Group" in the actual Canvas Assignment (Assignment Group portion) and when it shows up as an option under  "Unassociated" during the "Sync SIS Categories" process. Sometimes, not always, it takes a few minutes for the new Assignment Groups to populate so you might have to wait for the options to show up in the Association drop-down menu. Usually they will appear in the time it takes to stretch your legs and get a quick drink of water. Leave the Sync SIS Categories page, take a mini break and then go back in using the skinny snowman. They should be there. In a few cases I've seen it take overnight before they show up, but thet's usually rare and at busy school times like back-to-school in August or January. I hope this helps.
