If students are taking a test on Canvas, is it possible to block them from also using internet at the same time?

If someone has a response, can you please send me an email at cperkins@calstate.edu  ?  Thank you.

Hi @ConniePerkins,

In order to do that, you'd need to use a 3rd party lockdown browser type solution, the most popular one I know of being Respondus.  I recommend you ask your IT/eLearning department if that is available at your institution and go from there.  There are many reasons why such a thing may not be available to you, including cost and overall effectiveness.  It's important to know that even if you "lock" a student into a quiz on one device, they may have another device right next to them where they can access the internet (especially fi this is outside of the classroom).  Preventing that is much trickier, even if you go down the more costly road of online proctoring/monitoring.

I hope some of this info may help, even if it's not what you hoped to hear.
