Wish I could leave myself a private note for every question in a quiz

I'd like to attach a private note with each question on my quizzes that only I can view.

I update the content on my syllabus at least once per year and have associated content questions on my quizzes. However, there is no way (I can find) in Canvas to associate a question with a particular content item making it labor intensive to update questions as I must first rematch questions with content.

You can do this, at least with Classic Quizzes! It's very easy!

When you create a question, look for the rectangle that says "Question" just to the left of the dropdown menu for the type of question (True/False, Multiple Choice, and so on). 

Replace the default word "Question" with your note. For example: I'll write something like "U2 L2 Ex 5." That will be my reminder that this question is related to Unit 2 Lesson 2 Exercise 5 in my course textbook. Your students will NOT see this note.

Of course, it will take some time to relabel your questions with your codes, but once you've done this, you'll be completely set up.

You could also easily put questions into Question Banks (Classic Quizzes) or Item Banks (New Quizzes).

Just checked in to the Question Bank option. However, as existing quiz questions cannot be imported (old quiz), I'd have to create each question then add my notes. It is easier to (and as you suggested) "replace the default word "Question" with your note". Ty!

@amy_tracy_wells This is built into the new quizzes tool.  It is called grading notes, and is only available to people that have access to grade (roles based off of Teacher or TA).

Not sure if your institution has opened New Quizzes as an option for you to use or maybe even already forcing its use.  If you do have access to it, for every question you create, there is a little toggle called "Grading Notes" that allows you to enter your notes.

We are allowing our faculty to choose to enable New Quizzes (it is still in development so it far from perfect but does have some great features) by going into their course Settings -> Feature Options and turning it on.  With this method, faculty are presented a window when they add a quiz to determine if they want a classic or new quiz.  Again, your institution must enable this option first.
