The thing to look out for when using this method, which we have run into in some of our Photography classes, is that images embedded in this way count against a student's personal quota and at times have caused them to be over quota.  An image added as an attachment does not count against that quota.  We won't increase the personal quota because to do that would increase it for everyone in our Canvas instance.
