This behavior is working as intended. Additional concerns should be reported as a new Support case.

When using the password reset option on the login page for an account in a trust, if the email you provide exists in multiple accounts of that trust you'll get multiple password reset emails.

Expected Behavior


Instead it should only send a password reset for the current account you're on.



No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce


  1. Setup trust_links between two instances of canvas.

  2. Add a user account to both of these instances of canvas that has the same email address

  3. Attempt to use the password reset form on the login page of either account

  4. Notice you get two emails to reset your password
