With the new update, how can I clone and realign an assessment? It only allows me to clone and then I can not change the strand of standards. Please assist.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I should have mentioned that for document-based assessments, it would be a similar process. While you can change each question in the clone to align to a different standard, it is not possible to align the clone to another standards group. Your best bet is to create a new assessment with the new alignment.
Hi @Steele23 ,
When you clone an assessment, the clone is aligned to the standards subject, core, and class of the original. The clone also contains all the items of the original. You can rename the clone or add or remove items. You can also add items from another strand within the selected subject/core/class - filter the item bank by standard to find items aligned to Writing instead of Reading, for example.
However, if you want the clone to contain item bank items aligned to a different subject, core, or class, you would need to create a new assessment. Your best bet in this case would be to make a note of all the item IDs used in the original assessment, create a new assessment with the new alignment, and then add back the items by ID. Depending on the alignment the new assessment uses, I imagine most items will be available for your new standard alignment, since most are aligned to multiple standards.
I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Jen
