Student user interface feedback

While evaluating Assignment Enhancement, my institution came across the following general improvements of the user interface for students.

1. It is not obvious to a student that they have only uploaded a document and not submitted yet. The Submit assignment button is now further away from the rest of the workflow, compared to classic assignments. This could for example be remedied with an improved progress indicator or by having the upload and submit buttons appear closer to each other.
2. When moving away from the assignment page with a file uploaded but not submitted, there is no warning. When clicking Cancel a proper warning shows up. Something similar would be useful also when moving away or clicking next (in modules).
3. When opening the assignment page while there are new comments, the comment tray is automatically opened and can hide the grade/score. If the grade display could be moved so that both comments and grade can be viewed simultaneously, that would be great.
4. A student can still add a comment with an attached document after the Until date have passed. Tricking students into thinking that a late submission is possible. A per assignment setting that prohibits students from attaching documents in comments after the deadline would be helpful.
