We have been developing modules for students which include Canvas pages and discussions. As the site designer when I navigate through these modules, I can use the Next/Previous buttons located at the bottom of the page to move through the modules, including the discussions.
However, in Student View when I navigate through a module to a Canvas discussion page, I lose the Next/Previous buttons. The only way to continue navigating through the module is to return to the module list of items and then manually choose the next item. It's a pain. Is there a workaround?

Hey ChrisKing,
We're having the same issue here. We heard back from support this morning that it's a known issue and that they're working on it. Fingers crossed it's a quick fix.
Hello @ChrisKing,
What is the visibility of the assignments/pages set to? Can you provide a screenshot of what the modules look like in student view versus a page/assignment?
If this issue persists I recommend contacting Canvas Support.

Everything is set to published.
As an site manager Next/Previous buttons are present:
As a student:
This is the module list (as a student) which has this discussion as item 1.6 in the module:
I've been having this same issue in both admin/instructor view and in student view. All information in the modules are published and there's next/previous buttons in the first couple of modules but once you reach a specific module the only option is previous. You can flip through the pages using the previous button if you click the last page of the module, but you can't go forward to the next item.

If anyone knows, is just an issue for instructors in student view--or is it also an issue for actual students? It wouldn't be a huge issue if actual students can see/use the Next/Previous buttons, but I'm concerned students will get stuck if they they can't see Next/Previous. Thanks if anyone can provide insight!
Hi iancolmer1,
I also wondered if it was related to the Test Student view, but I've tested it with a regular student account enrolled in a course and have the same issue.
Yikes! 😔 Thanks for sharing!
I am also seeing this issue as well as all rubrics are now set to preview instead of being visible in past and future modules. Any ideas on this situation?
Hi @ElizabethDeegan,
I believe that is caused by having the Rubric Redesign preview feature enabled without having Assignment Enahncements enabled as well. I can't find any documentation that says Assignment Enhancements are required for the Rubric Redesign to function correctly, but it's definitely possible it's intended since those are the newest version of both features. With both options enabled, students seem to see the rubrics normally.
-Chris
We have both enabled and are seeing the issue. However, ours seems to be limited to Text Box assignment types only.
We're having the same issue and connected to the Rubric Redesign. Switch off "Enhanced Rubrics" and the "Next" button comes back. Doesn't seem connected to the Assignment Enhancements.
We intentionally do not have the rubric feature enabled but are still missing navigation buttons.
We are also missing Next and Previous nav buttons within modules. Both instructor and students, however not in all courses! I am site canvas admin and some of our teachers still have their navigation buttons.
Weird! Thanks for sharing. I'll let my students know.
I checked in with support this morning and got this in reply: "There's really no specific timeframe for the resolution but we can assure you that our engineers are actively working to resolve the issue as soon as possible."
