I have an assignment that students need to turn in. All of my students in this class have the reassign button show up in the speedgrader. BUT, I have one student in that class that the button does not show in the speedgrader. Anyone know what is going on? The assignment is set up just like every other one. They have another 3 attempts to turn it in, and I have graded it and given feedback. But the button is not even there, much less clickable.

Hi @munrok,
Sorry for the delay in re-responding. In this case, I think you'd want to contact Canvas support so they can further investigate what's going on with this particular student. The Instructure Community here is comprised of users of Canvas and other Instructure product, and while we can answer a lot of general questions, about Canvas, we don't have access to your particular Canvas environment to really assess and troubleshoot issues like this. Canvas support has more access and will hopefully be able to identify the issue or determine if it's a bug in Canvas that needs to be corrected.
I hope this info helps.

Hi @munrok,
In reviewing the How do I reassign an assignment in SpeedGrader? - Instructure Community guide, one thing stood out to me: "The Reassign Assignment button is only available for assignments with due dates." There are some other conditions mentioned on the guide page, but I doubt they apply here since they are more global (and you mentioned this is the only student with this issue). With the due date mention, I'm wondering if perhaps this student got an extension on the assignment which no longer has a due date, and thus made the reassign button disappear. Let us know if this is the case. If not, someone may know of some other scenarios where this would happen.
Look forward to hearing back from you!

So I looked at this too, and she did not get an extension. Everyone else in her class as that button to allow me to reassign the work after I give feedback, but this one student. It is so odd...

I HAD a reassign button for a student, but his deadline had passed, so I couldn't reassign it. So I gave him an extension in another window, and now the reassign button is GONE. This happened yesterday as well with a different student.
I like having this feature because it puts the assignment back on the student's to-do list, but it's clunky. If the assignment can't be reassigned, then the button should be greyed out. OR, (even better), I should be able to grant an extension or additional attempt if necessary within the reassign feature. Currently, I have to add attempts and extensions in a separate window, save, refresh, and then reassign. (That's if the button doesn't vanish entirely.)
