The Overview modal allows you to edit basic information for your profile, including your first and last name, tagline, education, current position, and location.
Additionally, you can view the Profile Strength Meter which shows you how complete your profile is and offers suggestions to improve your profile. The Profile Strength Meter can show the following strength levels:
- Beginner
- Rookie
- Pro
- Champ
Edit Overview
On the Canvas Student ePortfolios home page, click the Edit button.
Change Profile or Cover Photo
To change your profile photo, click the Change Picture button [1]. To change your cover photo, click the Change Background Photo button [2].
To select a file from your computer, click the File Upload icon [1]. When you have found the file you want to upload, drag and drop it into the modal or click the Open button.
To import a photo from a linked social media account, hover over the sidebar to view linked services or search the web [2].
Note: For best results, profile pictures should be at least 400px by 400px and cover photos should be at least 1500px by 500px.
Update Name
To update your first or last name, type your changes in the Name fields.
Update Tagline
To update your tagline, type in the Tagline field. When writing a tagline, think about how you would define yourself in one sentence.
Update Education
To edit which level of education displays in your overview, click the Education drop-down menu [1] and select from your previously entered options.
To add new education, click the Add new education link [2].
Update Current Position
To edit which work position displays in your overview, click the Current position drop-down menu [1] and select from your previously entered options.
To add a new position, click the Add new position link [2].
Update Location
To edit your current location, click the Location drop-down menu [1] and select from your previously entered options.
To add a new location, click the Add new location link [2].
Save Changes
To save your changes, click the Save button [1].
To cancel your changes and return to the Canvas Student ePortfolios home page, click the Cancel button [2].
View Profile Strength Meter
As you add information to your profile, the Profile Strength Meter will update to show your profile strength.
Tasks you have completed display a shaded checkmark [1]. Remaining tasks to complete display a link to complete the task and a lighter checkmark [2]. To view remaining tasks, click the See More button [3].
