It's official! Instructure's Community is now celebrating the remarkable journey to 2 million members. With each click, each post, and each interaction, this Community is building a brighter future for education - one where support and inspiration are readily available to all who seek it.

2 Million Members, Holy Panda! This Community continues to impress and excite us with every new season! We truly have shared so many fond memories and experiences during the last 10 years! We ask members of the Instructure Community - past and present - to share their favorite moments in Community using our shared Padlet. Take a read, relive the moments, or experience them for the first time, and then share yours! 

Between November 6 - December 1, 2023, we will work together to achieve a 67% solution rate in Question Forums. With this, two people who provide solutions in the Instructure Community’s Question Forums will be randomly chosen each week to win some amazing swag!

The Instructure Community, an engaged, brilliant, kind, and giving online global community of teachers, administrators, and even students, forever has my heart. Thank you for being one of the nearlyTwo Million members, and thank you for the influential role you played in inspiring us on how to support customers.

After our initial work on the Community Hub earlier this year, we knew we wanted to add even more goodness to the central hub of this Community. The Community Hub has been updated with more Community guides, a new tabbed layout with new sorting options, a profile completion checklist, an improved Jobs Board, an improved Resources section, and more.

Community Updates 2023-10-12: Changes to the Product Blog interface

We’re back with some more updates to the Instructure Community! We’ve been working on some new features to make filtering and sorting articles in the Community easier.

This Community empowers you with information to use Instructure software successfully, but we know it can sometimes feel like an expedition to find a single panda in the deepest darkest bamboo forest - we want to help you find that panda faster and in a way that feels natural. 

It’s why we’re introducing Panda Bot, a beta AI experience!  

A new button was added to each Question Forum. This great little tool was added to help you and all Community members quickly identify useful answers and to save you time! 

From June to October and December, the Community Team is making it a priority to recognize Community members who help others by sharing solutions in the Question Froums found throughout the Community. These members make it possible for everyone to maximize their use of Instructure products. This blog is a summary of all of the people who were identified to receive a Thank You from the Community Team.

Were you aware that Instructure provides a video hosting and collaboration solution, Canvas Studio? We weren’t sure, so we thought we better ask before we share some exciting news - All video guides will be migrating from Vimeo to Canvas Studio by July 31st.

Refreshed Home Page - An updated and elevated feel to the Instructure Community home page will make it easier to access the most important resources and topics within the Community.

Each step in the Community’s 8-year history needed different care and different supports to thrive, the mission and one key element were constant as membership and resource counts climbed. YOU. The people who come to the Community to advance their understanding of a product or connect with others keep returning, keep sharing, and keep learning. You make the Community flourish.

Starting June 1, and running for the next six months, we’re going to recognize Community members who help others by sharing solutions in the Question Forums. With the goal of enablement, you share resources and best practices, you are really making it possible for everyone to maximize their use of Instructure products.

Simplified top-level navigation - New navigation cues in the Community will organize resources into the categories of Product, Groups, and Explore and will make it possible to find what you need more efficiently. 

Back in January 2022, Community team member Tami B wrote a blog post introducing the Mastery Connect Great Guides Overhaul. And today, I’m excited to share that we recently put the finishing touches on that project.

As the Themes & Ideas Process launches across all four of Instructure’s product families and as we respond to some feedback we received, the Community Team wanted to share that we made some adjustments to our Ranks and Roles. 

As we look to 2023 with great anticipation, we can’t help but note all of the wonderful activities that occurred in the Instructure Community throughout 2022. Community is about coming together, collaborating, and celebrating ongoing improvements in teaching and learning. You make that possible, and for that, thank you for everything you contribute to the ever-growing Community.  🎉

The Community Team has updated some features and displays within the Known Issues pages to make it easier to navigate and understand the statuses of all identified issues across all Instructure Products.

To better guide Community members, all idea conversations will use a new submission form beginning Monday, August 8.

2021 is nearly over and we've been reflecting on all the amazing questions, ideas, replies, blog posts, events, and more that you, our wonderful Instructure Community members, have created and participated in. We want to celebrate your amazing contributions as another year comes to a close—because ultimately, that's what this community is all about: celebrating the individual contributions that come together to make a greater whole. Thank you for posting your questions, for answering questions from fellow educators, administrators, students, parents, and other faculty, and for making this the best place to learn about and get help for Canvas and the rest of Instructure's products.

We've made some exciting changes to the Canvas Video Guides page and the Ideas space!

We've been working on even more awesome little updates to make our Community easier to use.

Canvas is a global solution, so providing quality guides in multiple languages has always been a top priority for Instructure. Guides in Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, French, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, and Welsh have been available for some time. However, only English, Portuguese, and Spanish guides could be found on our community site. The limitations of our previous community platform made publishing and organizing multi-language documentation difficult, so we housed many of those guides in a location outside of our Community. 

Surprise! The Canvas Community is launching a new gamification system sometime mid-February 2017 and completely level-setting the community. But before you say “who cares” (cuz we know you have way more important things to do) or 'wut-wut' (cuz you fear losing your status), hear us out...
