Discussion Redesign - Add Rubric

Currently, we are not seeing the option to add rubrics to the new discussion layout. Has anyone else been successful in working with rubrics with this redesign?

Same issue. Old rubrics show up but you can't add new ones. This is stopping some of my faculty from flipping the switch on this feature.

We are having the same issue. We are hoping rubrics will be added back to Discussion Redesign, so we can turn it back on.

One possible work around - turn off new discussions, create discussions and rubrics, then turn on new discussions, so you get the new layout and your rubrics.

We do something similar with our Turnitin integration. We create the assignment, select online submission, create/add a Canvas rubric, and save changes. We then go back and edit that assignment to external tool Turnitin, and save those changes. The papers go directly to Turnitin and instructors still get to use their Canvas rubrics in speedgrader.

Got to love long workarounds ;o)

Please note when products or features are not yet available in your release notes. We turned this feature on globally based on the documentation and had to revert.

@rgibson1, It's unfortunate, but we had to do the same. Our faculty had also posted announcements that had videos in them. The announcement with videos were posted at the beginning of a term and were scheduled populate on specific dates, but the videos were hidden. If you clicked edit, they were there, just not visible in the published mode. I received quite a few tickets on the issue along with the rubrics.

Hi everyone, you can follow the status of the rubric work in the Known Issues section.

I noticed Rubrics have been added to the Discussions Redesign (that's good).

But an extra, pretty extraneous window now appears in-between the option and the Rubric builder - forcing the user to click twice for some reason:

Add Rubric menu > [unnecessary] window appears with Add Rubric button > Rubric Builder is accessed.

Now, once you go through this process once, then the intermediary window/button disappears. (?)
