How do I activate parent email accounts as a teacher ?

Find your school's Canvas URL

To find your school or institution's Canvas URL, begin typing the name of your school/institution. Results will appear after you type at least 3 characters. For best results be as specific as possible. If you can't find your school, try using any part of your school's name or searching for your school district or state. You may also need to search for the school using the acronym or full name, for example "USU" and "Utah State University".

How do I activate parent email accounts as a teacher ?

Before parents can access the Mastery Connect Parent Portal for real-time student progress and assessments, they must activate their accounts. As a teacher, you can send parents an activation email welcoming them to activate their accounts. You can select email recipients individually. You can also select email recipients by classroom and send a personalized activation message.

Note: This feature is only available if your school or district has integrated it'sStudent Information System (SIS) with Mastery Connect.

Open Students

Open Students Tab

In the Global Navigation menu, click the Trackers link [1]. Then, click the Students tab [2].

Note: The Students tab is only available if your school or district has integrated it's SIS with Mastery Connect.

Send Individual Email

Send Email to Individual Parent

To send activation emails individually, in the teacher's Students list,  find the student's name in the list and click the Send Parent Activation Email link.

Note: When you use the individual Send Parent Activation Email link, you do not have the option to customize the email content.

Send Activation Emails by Classroom

You can also send parent activation emails to parents in one or more classrooms.

Hover the cursor over the Menu button [1] and select the Send Parent Activation Emails option [2].

Select Classroom(s)

To send activation emails to all the parents in a class, click the class checkbox [1]. To send activation emails to all classrooms at once, click the All Classrooms checkbox [2].

To add an optional personalized message to the emails, type in the Additional Message field[3].

To send activation emails, click the Send button [4].  

Note: Emails are only sent to parents whose email address is on their student's Mastery Connect account.
