Canvas provides a welcome tour which provides quick tips to get started with a Canvas as an admin.
Note: The Canvas Welcome Tour only displays for users with account admin permissions. It does not display for sub-account admins.
After logging in to Canvas, you can view a short message about the Canvas Welcome Tour.
The Canvas Welcome Tour shows you how to add people and courses to Canvas, share course content and templates with teachers, set up video conferencing and other tools, and find training resources and more help.
To start the Canvas Welcome Tour, click the Start Tour button [1].
To dismiss the Canvas Welcome Tour, click the Not Now button [2] or the Exit icon [3].
Note: Dismissing the tour will disable the tour for your account.
If you previously dismissed the Canvas Welcome Tour, you can reopen the tour by clicking the Help link in Global Navigation [1] and clicking the Show Welcome Tour link [2].
Note: Depending on your institution, the Help menu and links within the Help menu may not display or may display differently.
The first stop of the tour displays the accounts in which you are an admin [1].
Once an account is opened you can use the resources in the Canvas Welcome Tour message to add individual courses, add individual users, or add bulk users, courses, and enrollments via SIS imports.
To proceed to the next item on the tour, click the Next button [1].
To go to a previous item on the tour, click the Previous button [2].
The second stop of the tour provides resources about how to use Commons and Blueprints.
To proceed to the next item on the tour, click the Next button.
The third tour item provides resources to learn more about video conferencing tools.
To proceed to the next item on the tour, click the Next button.
The last tour item opens the Help menu and provides links on how to access training videos and courses [1].
To complete the tour, click the Done button [2].
