How do I reply to submission comments in the Inbox as an instructor?

After a student comments on an assignment submission, you can reply directly from the Inbox. Submission Comments allows you to view assignment submission comments that were sent or received within the last four weeks and include at least one student comment.

You can also reply to comments directly from assignment submissions. You can evaluate assignments in SpeedGrader and leave feedback for your students, or you can make comments in the Gradebook.

Notes:

  • Submission comments only appear between a student and any user who has appropriate Gradebook and SpeedGrader editing and commenting permissions—most commonly an instructor, TA, or both.
  • For assignments with hidden grades, submission comments are not displayed until the assignment is posted.
  • Submission comments only filter in the Inbox after the student has commented on the submission.
