After working with your Instructure representative to import and establish your learning objects, you can align by standard. When you align by standard, you first select a standard and align learning objects to it.
Notes:
- Before beginning, you must log in to the Standards Alignment App. If you have access to multiple partner accounts, you must also select an account.
- You can also align learning objects by first selecting an object and then aligning standards to it. Learn more about aligning by object.
Open Align by Standard
In the Navigation Menu, click the Align by Standard link [1]. Alternatively, you can click the dashboard Start with Standards button [2].
View Standards Panel
The Standards panel displays.
Select Standards Group
In the State Publication drop-down menu [1], select a group of standards.
In the Subject drop-down menu [2], select a learning subject.
In the Grade drop-down menu [3], select a grade level.
View the first grouping of standards [4].
Select Standard
Expand groupings to locate a standard.
To expand an entire grouping of standards, click the group's Expand All icon [1].
To expand an individual grouping of standards, click the group's Expand icon [2].
To collapse a group, click the Collapse icon [3].
To align a standard with learning objects, locate the standard and click the Align button [4].
View Predicted Learning Objects
When a standard is selected, it displays a Selected label [1], and the Learning Objects tab displays [2].
On the Learning Objects tab, the Predictions sub-tab displays a list of all learning objects that may align to the selected standard [3]. The sub-tab also displays a Number of Objects label [4].
Crosswalks determine which learning objects display in the Predictions list. However, you can filter the learning objects, search for learning objects in your account, and manage crosswalks. You can also create and load learning object collections.
View Learning Object Details
For each learning object, you can view the object ID [1] and description [2].
To view additional details about an object, click the Expand icon [3]. You can view the object's associated properties [4]. You can also view any standards within the currently selected document, if any, to which the object is already aligned [5].
To copy the object ID, click the Copy ID icon [6].
Accept or Reject Alignments
To align an individual learning object in the predictions list, click the object's Accept Alignment icon [1]. Alternatively, you can align all objects in the list. To align all objects, click the Align All button [2].
To reject a learning object for alignment, click the object's Reject Alignment icon [3].
Open Aligned Tab
All aligned learning objects display in the Aligned list. The Aligned tab [1] displays a Number of Objects label [1]. To view all aligned learning objects, click the Aligned tab [2].
View Aligned Objects
View a list of all aligned objects.
A New label displays on newly added alignments [1].
To un-align an object, click the Remove Alignment icon [2].
To reject an aligned item and remove it from the Aligned list, click the Reject Alignment icon [3]. The learning object moves to display on the Rejected tab.
Open Rejected Tab
All rejected learning objects display in the Rejected list. The Rejected tab displays a Number of Objects label [1]. To view all rejected learning objects, click the Rejected tab [2].
View Rejected Objects
View a list of all rejected objects.
To align a learning object to the standard, click the Accept Alignment icon [1]. The learning object moves to display in the Aligned list.
To remove an item from the rejected list, click the Remove Rejected icon [2]. The learning object is removed from the Rejected list.
