Welcome to the Instructure Community

Welcome

We’re glad you’re here! Whether you're here to explore Instructure products, share invaluable insights, or simply connect with fellow members, you're in the right place.

At Instructure, we believe in fostering a culture of openness and positivity, where every voice is valued and respected. The Instructure Community Guidelines make it possible to maintain a collaborative space that is informative, inclusive, and supportive.

As you begin your experience in the Instructure Community, familiarize yourself with the guidelines. By doing so, you'll not only ensure a fulfilling experience for yourself but also contribute to making this space a welcoming home for all.

Community Hub and Guides

The Community Hub is the place to learn all about the Instructure Community! Here, you’ll hear from the Community Team, find Community guides and resources, ask questions about the Community, and network with other Community members. The Community Hub is also home to the Instructure Community Weekly Highlights Blog, a weekly publication that summarizes releases, upcoming events, and other awesome content.

The best place to quickly reference all Community How-To Guides is to select your profile image in the top-right corner of any page in the Community, and then Community FAQ. This FAQ page will provide you with the essentials you’ll need throughout the different aspects of the Instructure Community.

Build Your Profile

To enhance your experience in the Instructure Community and to help others identify you, update your profile by updating your name, creating a short biography, and selecting one of our provided avatars. To ensure you receive notifications and updates from subscriptions, verify your email.

While you explore the Instructure Community, you’ll likely see ranks and roles listed beneath other Community members’ usernames. This is a great way to tell how long someone has been a member, how active someone is in the Community, or if they’re part of a special group. When you participate in the Instructure Community, you will rank up and earn more credibility.

Badges

In the Instructure Community, badges are designed to recognize members for the ways they participate in and contribute to the Community.  They allow other members to identify you based on your interests and recognize your credibility as a member of the Community.

You can earn badges by logging in, liking content, replying to threads, providing solutions, authoring blogs, or hosting events!

With five product families - Canvas, Mastery, Elevate, Impact, and LearnPlatform - included in the Instructure Community, there are many resources to browse and collaborative experiences to share within the different product spaces.

Product Guides

The most popular parts of the Community are the product support guides! You can learn about each of Instructure’s products in well-organized lessons. You can search the guides for keywords to help you quickly find what you need.

The Instructure Community also has an All Guides page if you’d prefer to browse that way!

Question Forums

When you want to troubleshoot something technical or learn more about pedagogical practice, ask a question in our forums! Like our guides, each Instructure product has its own space for collaboration. This organization helps connect those seeking help with Community members who are familiar with the product. Each space can be searched and features multiple filtering options.

If you are motivated to help others, you can search for a specific topic and reply to a question. The Question Forums are a great way to “pay it forward”, identify more solutions in the forums, and start collaborating with peers.

The Community Questions Forums are a great way to increase your rank and earn badges in the Community. You can offer comments, give likes, or offer solutions. There are so many ways to engage in these spaces.

Discover

As you spend more time browsing Product Hubs and User Groups, you can build your network within the Instructure Community. Whether you explore the Question Forums or Instructure Live, you will find that the more you invest in your learning, the more you gain and the more you’ll help others. Follow spaces or people to make tracking updates or new opportunities simple.

The Community is an amazing place filled with great content, much of which is shared by members who leverage Instructure products at their institutions every day. Community members are encouraged to author resources or blogs and host webinars in Instructure Live.

We hope that you love your time in the Instructure Community! If there’s anything the Community Team can do to help you get started, you are welcome to reach out by email. community@instructure.com
