You can embed guides from the Instructure Community in your Canvas course using the iFrame embed code provided on guide article pages in the Instructure Community.
Note: Guide embeds are not currently supported for all institutions. If your institution uses a vanity URL (your Canvas URL ends in something other than ".canvaslms.com" or ".instructure.com"), guide embeds may not be supported. If guide embeds do not work in your Canvas course, please reach out to "community+embeds" @ instructure.com to enable guide embeds.
Copy Embed Code
Scroll to the bottom of the page. In the Embed this guide in your Canvas course component, click the Embed this Guide button [1].
When the code displays, click the Copy Code button [2]. The embed code is copied to your clipboard.
You an also select all the code in the code textbox and copy the code using a keyboard shortcut.
Edit Canvas Content
In your Canvas course, navigate to the content you want to edit. Guides can be embedded anywhere with a rich content editor. Click the Edit button to edit the content.
View HTML Editor
Click the HTML Editor button to switch to the HTML editor.
Paste HTML Code Snippet
Locate where you want to embed the guide within the page. On a new line in the HTML Editor, paste the embed code you copied from the Community article. For advanced users, the iframe style attributes can be modified to better fit your content.
Save Canvas Content
To save your Canvas content, click the Save button.
View Embedded Guide
View your content with the embedded guide.
