You can enter a website URL as a submission in a Canvas course that uses Assignment Enhancements. When a URL is submitted as an assignment, Canvas takes a screenshot of the web page at the time it was submitted. This lesson shows how to turn in a standard online assignment in a course using Assignment Enhancements. You may also have the option to resubmit assignments if your instructor allows.
Before submitting an assignment, you may want to review all assignment information, such as the assignment rubric.
Third-Party File Application Submissions
You can submit assignments from Google Drive, Dropbox, or another third-party service via your desktop computer in one of two ways:
In Course Navigation, click the Assignments link.
Click the name of an assignment.
Your instructor may specify which submission types are appropriate for each assignment.
If your instructor allows multiple submission types for the assignment, the Attempt tab  displays the accepted submission types in the Submission Type drop-down menu.
Click the Submission Type drop-down menu  and select the URL option  .
If your instructor only allows URL submissions, the Website URL option may display in place of the Submission Type drop-down menu.
Type or copy and paste the URL into the Website Url field .
You can submit assignments from Google Drive, Dropbox, or another third-party service by sharing the file, copying the URL, and submitting as a website URL. Alternatively, you can download the file to your computer and submit as a file upload if the assignment allows.
To open the website URL in a new tab, click the Preview icon .
To submit your URL submission, click the Submit button .
Note: A URL must be entered to view the Preview icon and Submit button.
When your submission is successfully submitted, the Status Timeline displays a checkmark icon for the Submitted status .
Additionally, you can view your most recent submission in the Attempt tab .
If you choose, you may resubmit another version of your assignment by clicking the New Attempt icon .
If you've submitted multiple assignment submissions, you can view previous submissions by clicking the Attempt drop-down .
Once your instructor has graded your submission, your grade displays in the Assignment Summary Header . You can also see details about your assignment and links to additional feedback in your Grades page.
