How do I enroll in a Catalog program?

You can enroll in a program by viewing the details of the program listing. Some programs may allow you to enroll in one course requirement at a time. If you enroll in a program that requires payment, payment is required as part of the enrollment process.

When you have completed your program enrollment, you can view and begin the program in your Catalog Dashboard.

If you have never enrolled in a program with your institution, you will need to complete your registration before you can begin the program.

Notes: 

  • You may need to log in to Canvas before you can view your institution's Catalog listings. 
  • Depending on how your institution has configured the Catalog program enrollment process, you may be required to complete enrollment fields that are not shown here.

In a browser window, type your institution's Catalog URL in the address field.

Locate Catalog Program Listing

Locate the listing in the Catalog Listings page [1].

To search for a specific course, enter text in the Search field [2]. You may also be able to filter the displayed results by category [3] or using a refined search menu [4].

Click the program listing card.

Enroll in Program

To enroll in the program, click the Enroll button.

The program course requirements display in the listing's details page [1]. Course listings that are visible in your institution's Catalog also include a link to the course listing [2].

Add to Wait List

Add to Wait List

If you want to enroll in a course with closed enrollment, you may be able to add your name to a wait list. When a spot opens, your Catalog account will automatically enroll you in the course. Spots become available if a student drops the course or if an administrator increases the enrollment limit. Learn more about Catalog wait lists.

Sign In or Register for Account

If you already have a Canvas account at your institution, click the Sign in to Enroll link [1].

If you do not have a Canvas account at your institution, register a new account by completing the new account registration information [2].

Select Payment Option

Enter Payment Promotion Code

Paid courses display payment options on the enrollment page.

To register for a paid course using a promotion code, enter the code in the Enter Promotion Code field [1], then click the Apply button [2].

To enter payment information using your institution's payment gateway, click the Proceed to Payment button [3]. Catalog will redirect to your institution's payment gateway.

Verify New User Account

Complete New User Registration

If you registered for a new account, you must verify your account to complete your registration and begin the course. Check your registration email address to confirm your account.

Verify that your name displays in the Logged in as field [1]. To switch accounts or to register a new account, click the Switch Account link [2].

To confirm your enrollment in the program, click the Enroll in Course button [3].

Catalog displays an enrollment confirmation [1].

To view your Catalog Dashboard, click the Go to your Dashboard link [2]. To return to your institution's listings page, click the Return to Catalog link [3].
