How do I add learning outcomes to the assessment library?
Learning outcomes are a defined set of skills or competencies that should be obtained by students through coursework and programs. You can add outcomes to the account for faculty to use in their courses and for coordinators to use in course and program assessments.
Open Assessments
In the Toolbar, click the Assessment icon.
Open Learning Outcomes
In the Assessment Sidebar, click the Learning Outcomes link.
Add New Outcome
Click the Add New Outcome button.
Enter Outcome Details
Enter a title [1] and a description [2] for the learning outcome. To add hyperlinks in the description, use markdown formatting. Type the text you want to link in brackets [3] and then type the destination URL between parentheses [4]. There should be no space between the closing bracket and the first parenthesis.
You can designate an outcome to be available at the institution, program, or course level. To select a level, click the radio button for the corresponding level [5].
When you have entered the outcome details, click the Next button [6].
Define Outcome Relationship
You can optionally align an outcome with a specific course or program.
To align an outcome with a course or program, click the Courses or Programs tab [1]. Then click the Add Course or Add Program button [2] and select the course or program from the list [3].
When you have selected the course or program, click the Next button [4].
Set Scoring Levels
By default, the outcome will be pre-populated with the account outcome scoring levels. However, you can adjust the scoring levels for the outcome. To adjust a scoring level, click and drag the slider button in the scale [1]. The start and/or end fields will automatically update as you adjust the scale. You can also type a value in the Start or End fields to adjust a scoring level [2].
When you have entered the scoring information, click the Done button [3].
