How do I configure attendance event category types for my institution in Admin Settings?

In Elevate K-12 Analytics Admin Settings, the Attendance Event Category Type setting allows you to specify an attendance marker for each attendance category used in your institution's Student Information System (SIS). Each attendance category indicates an event that interrupts normal student attendance.

In the Navigation Menu, click the Admin link.

Open Settings

In the Elevate K-12 Analytics Administration page, click the Settings link.

The Settings menu displays the Academics settings options [1].

Click the Attendance link [2]. Then click the Attendance Event Category Type link [3].

The Attendance Event Category Type setting displays your institution's attendance categories in the Attendance Categories list [1].

To view additional list items, use the page navigation icons [2]. You can also manage the number of items that display in the list. Click the items per page drop-down menu [3], and select to view 10, 25, or 50 items at a time.

You can also view the total number of attendance categories in the list [4].

For each attendance event, click the Attendance Type drop-down menu. You can select from the following options:

  • no value [2]: the attendance event does not affect attendance rates and is not included in Elevate K-12 Analytics attendance data.
  • In attendance [3]: the attendance event indicates student attendance; the event is calculated toward student attendance rates in Elevate K-12 Analytics attendance data.
  • Absence [4]: the attendance event indicates student absence; the event is calculated toward student absentee rates in Elevate K-12 Analytics attendance data.  
  • Tardy [5]: the attendance event indicates student late arrival; the event is calculated toward student tardy rates in Elevate K-12 Analytics attendance data.
  • Early departure [6]: the attendance even indicates student early departure during school hours; the event is calculated toward student attendance rates in Elevate K-12 Analytics attendance data.

When you move from one event to the next, your progress saves automatically and a Successful Save notification displays.
