How do I create a sub-account?

You can create sub-accounts in Canvas. Sub-accounts help establish your account's hierarchical structure and house courses and enrollments. Sub-accounts can be created manually or via SIS upload.

Open Account

In Global Navigation, click the Admin link [1], then click the name of the account [2].

In Account Navigation, click the Sub-Accounts link.

Show Accounts

Show Accounts

Click the down arrow to show sub-accounts.

Add Sub-Account

Click the Add button.

Title Sub-Account

Enter a title for the sub-account in the title field. Press Return (on a MAC keyboard ) or Enter (on a PC keyboard).

View the created sub-account.

@CanvasDocTeam Is it possible to assign a sub-group admin?  We have each of our schools listed as a sub-group and would like for principals to have admin access to their "sub-group".  We do not need them to be admins for the whole district - just their school.
